Jen’s
House of Cakes has been created from my passion to bake, design and decorate
celebration cakes. I started baking at an early age and learned a lot from
my lovely Mum and Grandma, creating delicious delights from the trusty Bero
recipe book.......... where would we be without this wonderful ‘bible’?
:)
Learning more about cake decorating was always something I’d hoped to do when I had more time on my hands i.e. when I was retired. However, when my beautiful daughter was born I suddenly couldn’t wait to recreate the wonderful cakes my parents always made me, my brother and sister for our birthdays.
I
started my studies in 'Cake Decorating and Sugarcraft' in 2006, which led
me to begin making cakes as a hobby. Following glowing feedback on these
cakes and encouragement from friends and family I decided to turn my hobby
into a business and became a member of the British Sugarcraft Guild.
I love what I do and take a lot of pleasure from working
on new designs and new challenges.
The
biggest thrill in this business is seeing a customer’s reaction to a cake
they have ordered, and seeing their smiles. With this in mind, every
cake I make no matter how big, small or complex, is equally as important
as the next and I always make sure the end result is to the highest standard.
I have an up to date Level 2 Food Safety in Catering Certificate and am a member of the British Sugarcraft Guild. Jens House of Cakes also have a 5 Star Tees Valley Food Hygiene Award.
Please take the time to visit my ‘cake gallery’ for examples of cakes I have recently made. Hopefully these photos will give you some inspiration for the cake you are looking for or even just “food for thought”. If you would like to talk to me about your ideas, please contact me and we can discuss your requirements and tailor a cake to your exact needs.
Jen x
